CDK Member Tanja Kerševan Appointed to the Council of Europe Committee of Experts on Media Regulators in a Platform-Based Environment

Assistant Professor Tanja Kerševan from the Social Communication Research Center and Department of Journalism at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, has been appointed as an independent expert to the Council of Europe’s Committee of Experts on Media Regulators in a Platform-Based Environment (MSI-eREG).

By the end of 2027, the Committee will prepare a Guidance Note for the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. The document will support member states, media regulators and other relevant actors in ensuring that media regulators in the digital environment can effectively perform their essential democratic functions – independently and with appropriate mandates, powers and capacities.

In the past, Dr Kerševan served as a member of the Council of Europe expert committees MSI-NET and MSI-AUT, which addressed human rights issues related to internet intermediaries, content moderation, algorithms, automated data processing and artificial intelligence.

Her participation in MSI-eREG represents an important contribution to the development of European standards in the field of media regulation in the digital environment and further strengthens the international visibility of CDK in media and digital governance.
