Tanja Kerševan Appointed to the Council of Europe Committee of Experts on Media Regulators in a Platform-Based Environment

CDK hosted prof. dr. Hannu Nieminen
Between the 13th and 15th of May 2026, the Social Communication Research Centre had the pleasure of hosting professor dr. Hannu Nieminen from the University of Helsinki, Finland.
During his visit, he delived a lecture titled Why We Need Media Policy: Towards Political Economy of Freedom of Expression to students enroled in the Ideologies of the visual class (held by dr. Jernej Kaluža in the 2025/2026 academic year) and the interested public. In it, he presented his current research work that focuses on political economy of media policy in the European Union and the challenges that the field faces, as well as possible starting points for their adressing and solving.
